I am an immigration and refugee lawyer. I have prepared positive hearings and appeals. My goal is to help clients to be heard.
My background includes recognition with awards, scholarships and also Ontario-level championships in another area. In law school, I served as a research assistant to both a law dean and a university president. In my undergrad, I earned academic awards and achieved top grades.
Prior to pursuing immigration, I successfully litigated trials, motions and regularly appeared before the Court of Appeal for Ontario. I have also achieved favourable settlements in both negotiations and mediations.
I have prepared many legal submissions that achieved positive decisions, often presented under the names of my colleagues.
My notable experiences include preparing written legal submissions before the Supreme Court of Canada (as co-counsel) and preparing written legal arguments submitted to Parliament (under the name of my colleague) that led to legislative change.
For almost 10 years, I have served on a board for a school of the performing arts. I have also volunteered with lawyers feed the hungry and other community-based programs as well as several other projects.
As a mixed-raced daughter of immigrants, first-generation Canadian and survivor, I do this because I understand.
